The Astros' bid for back-to-back World Series titles came to an end on Thursday night with a Game 5 loss to the Boston Red Sox. Despite a great early start from Justin Verlander, the bats did little to offer run support, and eventually Verlander would give up a solo shot to JD Martinez, before surrendering a three-run homer to Rafael Devers, leaving Houston trailing 4-0 after six innings.
Marwin Gonzalez would hit a solo shot to make it 4-1 in the seventh, but the Astros wouldn't get any closer, as they finished the postseason losing four straight to Boston after winning Game 1 of the ALCS.
