Astros farmhand and former top prospect A.J. Reed was designated for assignment today in order to make room for pitcher Jose Urquidy, according to multiple reports. A.J. Reed sported a .224 batting average and clubbed 12 home runs in 56 games for Triple-A Round Rock. He was the Minor League Player of the Year for the Astros in 2015.
