Tonight’s Astros game against the A’s was postponed. The Houston Astros released the following statement regarding tonight’s postponement:
“The Houston Astros players, with support from the Oakland players, have decided to postpone tonight’s game. We support their decision to make a strong statement in support of the fight for racial equality. We are proud of our players’ efforts to use their voices to drive necessary change. The Astros and A’s will proudly celebrate Jackie Robinson Day tomorrow when play is resumed.”
Both teams will play a doubleheader tomorrow, with Game 1 beginning at 3:10 p.m. CT. Game 2 will begin 30-45 minutes after the conclusion of Game 1. Both games will last 7.0 innings. Hear all the action on your home for Astros baseball, SportsTalk790!
The Astros and A’s will recognize Jackie Robinson Day tomorrow during Game 1, with the players from both teams wearing #42.
RHP Lance McCullers Jr. will start Game 1 for the Astros. RHP Zack Greinke will start Game 2.
