The Houston Rockets got their summer league started off on the right foot, beating the Portland Trailblazers Friday night, 100-99 as Jabari Smith nailed a miracle three-pointer at the buzzer.
Smith finished with 33 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Meanwhile, rookie Cam Whitmore had 14 points and 11 rebounds, while fellow draft pick Amen Thompson scored 16 points with five assists. Second year player Tari Eason added 20 points and ten rebounds.
The Rockets will play the Pistons next up on Sunday night on ESPN2.
