Ronel Blanco was outstanding last week in his no-hitter performance vs the Blue Jays. In his second start of the season, he was once again impressive as he threw six scoreless innings of one-hit ball as the Astros defeated the Texas Rangers 3-1.
Adolis Garcia broke up Blanco's bid for a second no-hitter in the 6th inning with a two-out single. Blanco improved to 2-0 on the season.
Yordan Alvarez crushed a three-run homerun in the third inning off Dane Dunning, his third of the season.
Rafael Montero and Ryan Pressly both pitched shutout innings of relief. Josh Hader earned his first save in an Astros uniform, though it wasn't easy as he gave up an RBI single to Justin Foscue for the Rangers first run of the game.
The Astros improve to 3-7 on the season, matching their worst since they were 2-8 in 2011, though they have faced a really tough schedule. They'll finish off this four-game series in Arlington on Monday night on SportsTalk790.
