According to Brian McTaggart of MLB.com, the Houston Astros have offered free agent third baseman Alex Bregman a six-year deal worth around $156 million. McTaggart reported that was confirmed with a source this week. Of course, that would be a club-record contract in terms of money.
However, if Bregman were to sign elsewhere, McTaggart reports the Astros would consider a backup option like Jorge Polanco.
