According to multiple reports, the Houston Astros have traded outfielder Kyle Tucker to the Chicago Cubs. In exchange, the Astros receive big league infielder Isaac Paredes, big league arm RHP Hayden Wesneski, and third base prospect Cam Smith.
Paredes, who spent several seasons with Detroit, Tampa and Chicago, was a target of the Astros at last year's trade deadline. He batted .238 last season with 19 homeruns and 80 RBI. Primarily a third baseman, he has also played a bunch at first base.
Wesneski is a Houston native, who attended Cy-Fair High School and played college baseball at Sam Houston State. Over the past three seasons, he's appeared in 68 games, with 22 career starts and a career 3.93 ERA.
Smith ranks as the Cubs' 7th best prospect, a third baseman who batted .313 at the Double-A level last season.
