Last week, Michael Brantley had to step away from Astros spring training to attend to a family matter. This morning ahead the Astros workout and game, Dusty Baker said that the Astros outfielder has left camp again to deal with the same matter. There was no indication as to when the Astros expect to have him back in camp.
Returning to the Astros this winter, Brantley is working his way back from shoulder surgery that cut his 2022 season short. While he has not hit on the field to this point, there has been optimism that he could be ready to go for opening day later this month. There is no update on if this changes any of those plans.
