The Astros starting pitching depth appears to have suffered another issue. Right-handed pitcher Jose Urquidy had to leave Friday's minor league start with apparent pain in his throwing elbow.
The Astros are already dealing with the reality, that Justin Verlander will start the 2024 season on the injured list. However, Verlander has been throwing bullpen sessions in West Palm Beach, Fla. and could be facing live hitters soon.
There are also reports on Friday, that the Astros could still be in the market to add a free agent pitcher. High-profiled left-handed starters Blake Snell and Jordan Montgomery still remain unsigned.
