The son of Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Marvin Harrison, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound prototypical downfield target, is looking forward, route by route, practice by practice and toward a Sunday international game at Wembley Stadium. Te said that Harrison will definitely make his debut against the Jaguars with a package of plays, but not necessarily every snap.

What Harrison isn't focused on: the past and where things went away with the Cardinals.

The negative critiques, all of the bold assumptions about him, Harrison isn't focused on that.

He's all about the green grass and blue skies in front of him.

"Everybody has their own opinions," Harrison said. "That's really the best way I can put that. Everybody has their own opinions and what they're going to gather from information. I know who I am as a player. I know who I am as a person. However people want to label me or think of me, that's their opinions. I'm excited to be here, excited to help this team win games. Excited to be with C.J. again and help C.J. to the best of my ability. I’ve always watched the Texans from afar, just watching C.J. It's pretty surreal to be able to play with him now again and just help him out the best I can.

"I think it's just a combination of everything. I can't pinpoint one thing. I think the team as a whole, it's great for me, great situation for me being with C.J., being with a quarterback that you have rapport with and had success with in the past is always great, too. Being around Nico, being around a bunch of other guys, I think just everything in totality is going to make the best situation for me."

What he left behind him in Arizona, Harrison prefers not to go into details. That includes some viral social media clips where he appeared to be not giving his best effort on downfield blocks and on routes where he wasn't involved, some dropped passes and not attacking the football the way he did as a rookie when he caught eight touchdowns or during his prolific star turn with the Buckeyes.

What Harrison didn't say, but is being said in league circles. The Cardinals haven't been a winning organization in years and annually are one of the lowest ranked franchises in NFL Players Association polls. Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill has been involved in multiple lawsuits from former employees citing a toxic work environment. Harrison wanted the Cardinals to purchase a $50,000 special Juggs machine called The Seeker. They refused, so he purchased it himself. And Harrison never played with an elite quarterback to get him the football.

It was obvious and well-known around the NFL that Harrison wanted out. When he hired Athletes First agents Todd France and Tory Dandy recently to help him navigate a trade, the business of football accelerated.

"There are a lot of factors," Harrison said. "I think with any situation, you always want to take accountability for yourself. I'm always going to take accountability on my part and my role that I played in things. I'm just looking forward to the future now at this point and moving forward."

What did he learn from the experience?

"Those things I keep to myself really truthfully," Harrison said. "What I learned in Arizona, I think I definitely learned a lot. Moving forward, I'm really just looking forward."

In the past, Harrison was a productive player. He caught 62 passes for 885 yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie and 41 catches or 608 yards and four touchdowns last season when he was dealing with appendicitis and a foot issue. There is some rough tape, though, this year where Harrison, a physical player looks sluggish on his blocking assignments and disinterested in selling routes when the football isn't going his way.

"My initial reaction was, quality person, obviously have a lot of respect for him, did a lot of work on him when he came out and nothing but great things I've heard about him in terms of work ethic, the football character, the human being, the love of football and stuff," Caley said. "Anytime we get an opportunity to bring people into our program that love football, that work hard and they're good people,, you welcome it and you're excited about those things."

Stroud stuck up for Harrison, whom he collaborated with in Columbus, Ohio for huge numbers.

The relationship between Stroud and Harrison is a strong one.

He believes in him.

"I don't think anybody ever is a finished product," Stroud said. "He's a heck of a player. I don't agree with some of the things that are being said about him. At the end of the day, that's what people who are on the outside are saying.

"I'm a firm believer of really focus on what you can control and then whatever other people say or have their opinions, kudos to them. They have platforms and things that they can say on, but that doesn't really affect you unless you make it. I think he'll be fine. He's a confident dude. He'll be fine."

Harrison learned of the trade, which was essentially agreed to between Texans general manager Nick Caserio and Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort, his former New England Patriots colleague, Friday night, from his agent shortly before Ryans made the announcement at the end of his press conference following a road win over the Tennessee Titans. The Cardinals wanted the deal kept under wraps until after the game.

Known in college as 'Maserati Marv,' for his penchant for game-changing plays, Harrison was a two-time consensus All-American and a Fred Biletnikoff winner. He's wearing his old No. 18 jersey again, his college number.

In his final collegiate season, he piled up 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns on 73 catches with Stroud delivering throws to him as the focal point of the Buckeyes offense.

The Texans like what they've seen so far from Harrison, who has a clean slate with them.

The Philadelphia native has 108 career receptions in the NFL for 1,578 yards and 13 touchdowns.

"I think he has a really good skillset," Caley said. "He's got good savvy. He's a very smart, instinctive player. He's got size and he's been a productive player. You look at what he's been able to do, I think he's got flexibility and there are no limitations in terms of being able to move around the formation from those things. I think just like a lot of our guys, he has the flexibility and allows us to use multiple different groupings, whether it's 12, 11, wherever. He can flip and adjust to different personnel identities too. I think he gives us good flexibility."

And his confidence appears to be intact after his Arizona tenure.

"I think I can do it all, really," Harrison said. "I'm confident in all my abilities to play this game at a high level. I know all the work that I put in day in and day out. I like to look at myself as a well-rounded receiver. I feel like I can do a lot of things. Whatever role I have on the team, I'm going to do my best with my ability to perfect that role and help the team win games."

This has been a whirlwind of a week for Harrison.

He was traded on Sunday and arrived in Houston on Monday to take his physical. Ryans said he immediately went to work on absorbing the playbook with assistant receivers coach Tiquan Underwood.

He kept studying all week. Now, he's ready to make his Texans debut.

"It's been crazy, definitely been crazy," Harrison said. "I'm just enjoying the moment."
